Blake’s Images for Children: An Illustrated Talk by Luis & Carol Garrido

The talk will re-visit, with a child’s eye, many of William’s images for children such as Blake’s etchings of  For the Children – The Gates of Paradise, and Blake’s illustrations to Milton’s “Comus,” Pilgrim’s Progress, Thornton’s Virgil, Mary Wollstonecraft’s Original Stories, Hayley’s Ballads, and some other of his illustrations for children. Often it is a challenge for adults to find a simple interpretation for what is obvious to a child’s eyes. Luis and Carol Garrido are Blake researchers who re-discovered the lost grave of William Blake. They are leading the Society’s campaign to mark this site of world significance and place of pilgrimage.
