On 4 August 1772, the 14 year old Blake attended Stationers’ Hall where the Indenture for his 7 year apprenticeship were signed in consideration of £52 10s paid to James Basire, Citizen and Stationer, a Stationers’ Hall fee of 9s.6d and a stamp-duty of £2.12s.6d. ( Blake Records )

This visit to one of the great City Livery Companies will include an examination of the surviving records of Blake in the Library and a tour of this historic building, which survived the Blitz.
