Forgiving Blake
Professor Jeanne Moskal teaches at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.  She is the author of ‘Blake, Ethics and Forgiveness’ (Univ. Alabama P., 1993).

Our August event takes place on the Sunday nearest the anniversary of William Blake’s death.  We meet by Blake’s grave, Bunhill Fields at 12 noon, probably then repairing to a nearby public house.  All welcome.

Nearest tube: Old Street exit 5; buses 43, 141, 271, 214 all stop outside the cemetery in City Road.

Dr. David Worrall
Blake’s Mrs. Q: a late portrait engraving
David Worrall has edited Volume 4 of the Blake Trust facsimile series: ‘The Urizen Books’ (1995), &, with Steve Clark, ‘Historicising Blake’ (1994).  He is also the author of ‘Radical Culture’ (1992), & is now working on a literary life of William Blake.

Joint meeting with the Wilfred Owen Association.
Chris Rubinstein, Treasurer of the Blake Society, will speak on “Blake & Owen in peace & war”.  The speaker from the Wilfred Owen Association will be Merryn Williams.

Songs of Innocence and of Experience
We mark the anniversary of William Blake’s birth with two readings of his poetry at the National Portrait Gallery.

AGM of the Blake Society.
All are welcome to this event, which is a chance for members to influence the future plans & direction of the Society.
