7:30 pm Tuesday 12 January 2010 City of Westminster Archives Centre 10 St. Ann’s Street London SW1P 2DE     Annual General Meeting  Immediately after the AGM – and in a change to our published programme –  John Sargent will give an introduction  to the Kerrison Preston Collection.  Not everyone may be aware of the riches contained in this Collection that is housed above the room where we meet. There are over 700 volumes of commentary and many important original works. These include a series of autographed letters written by Blake to his patron Thomas Butts, Blake’s own copy of his first book of poems Poetical Sketches, a set of proofs of the Book of Job, and, the artist’s proofs of the seven large engraved illustrations to Dante.John Sargent is soon to retire as Head of the Archive and we thank him for his unswerving support to the Society over many years and for sharing his expertise with countless Blake scholars from around the world.
